| August 9 | On August 9th we will meet at 10 AM across from the Forest Discovery Centre north of Duncan at Tim’s for coffee and then the short drive to Chris Bauer’s house on Old Lake Cowichan Road for a garage tour. Chris has invited us to take a look at his collection of some 15+ cars including VWs and Hudsons. They are not all restored but they sound interesting. Thanks to Rob Hill for the contact information. Side note: Chris’ neighbour has a Hudson and he will try to have him come by while we are there. Really, two Hudsons on the same rural road in Satlam. After our visit we will drive up to Lake Cowichan for lunch at Jakes on South Shore Road. It isn’t clear on the exact time for lunch but my guess would be about 12:30. I am always hopeful that when we have an invitation for a garage tour we will be able to muster a good turnout of members and cars. Please let Howard know if you plan to attend. |

| September 12 | September 12th is International Drive Your Studebaker Day. I have planned a drive to Port Alberni and a visit to the Mclean Mill. Those that wish to make an easier drive can stay overnight. We will assemble in the parking lot of the Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan and leave sharp at 9:45am for the drive to Port Alberni for lunch. Please, please contact me if you plan to make the drive and if you might want to stay overnight. Once I have the number of cars and attendees I will contact every one with the details for that day. IF there isn’t enough interest then I will try to plan another day trip for the 12th. |

| October 17 | October 17th is our annual Soup and Sandwich day. Anne Christensen has offered to host this event in Victoria. Thanks Anne. She would like to have input and help from club members. Ingrid and I hosted last fall’s event and it was not overwhelming because people pitched in. Anne would like to know who can bring a dessert or soup. The club will buy the fixings for sandwiches. Even though it seems like a long way to October it’s always nice to have the decisions completed well in advance of the event. I will put more details in the next VISTA newsletter. |
| November 1 | Our AGM most likely at our usual location in Langford. |
| December 6 | Our annual Christmas Luncheon. |
